Alex’s Experience…

I went to school in Southsea and chose the three sciences at A-Level. I applied and had been offered a place at medical school, but it wasn’t until a chance conversation with family friends, where they mentioned how much they loved seeing their Chiropractor, that made me consider it. But the more research I did about Chiropractic, the more I felt it was exactly the right choice for me.

To be a Chiropractor you need a Masters degree in Chiropractic, which typically takes five years of full-time study. So, I applied to the highly-respected Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) and was accepted. We were trained extensively in anatomy, physiology and biomechanics and learned medical diagnosis, radiography and radiology, to allow us to be able to diagnose problems and develop appropriate treatment plans to help people and not just chase symptoms.

Everything I learned helped me enormously in my own life. I was definitely more “cerebral” than physically active whilst growing up and I went to university overweight, hating exercise and loving food. My training made me understand and appreciate how all our little day-to-day habits shape not just our bodies, but our whole health. And that is what I am now able to bring to patients.

My Chiropractic training made me more interested in Nutrition, diet & exercise and other lifestyle related factors. I read, talked and learned from Personal Trainers, Biomechanists, Kinesiologists, Nutritionists and Dieticians to expand my knowledge and further my understanding of how all of these aspects can either improve or degrade our health.

In addition to my Chiropractic degree, I have trained to use Dry Needling (Western Acupuncture) and various taping techniques to further help people. I’ve trained as a DSE Workstation Assessor and have worked with large companies and individuals suffering from the effects of long commutes and working at a desk or on a laptop at home.

Alex’s Patients…

Over the years I have worked with individuals working in more physical and manual roles, pregnant women, new mothers and children from new-born to adulthood as well as working closely with a variety of sportspersons at every level, including ultra-marathon runners, rowers, swimmers, rugby players, martial artists, bodybuilders and golfers and people with various physical and mental disabilities to help them all work as well as they can.

Fundamentally, I have been able to make an overwhelming change to my own life through Chiropractic and my goal is to use everything I have learned over the years to help others to do the same. I’ve shared the benefits of Chiropractic with thousands of people seen since I started treating patients in 2005 (you can read some of their experiences in our Google Reviews), and I hope to share it with thousands more.
